In this week’s podcast, Bob interviews Merri Jo Cowen, CEO of the My Florida Regional MLS, one of the largest MLSs in the country. Merri Jo talks about the evolution of the MLS over the last 30 years and what role the MLS should play in supporting their broker members. She also has some great advice about agents and brokers can get more involved with deciding the direction of their own MLS

Merri Jo Cowen serves as CEO for My Florida Regional Multiple Listing Service, a consortium of 15 Realtor associations and boards that represent more than 33,000 members, making it one of the largest MLSs in the U.S. and the largest MLS in Florida. Cowen is the current chair of the MLS Domains Association’s board of directors and participates in the Realtor.com association executives advisory group. She is a past president of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) and has served on the National Association of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee. In 2013, MFRMLS offered its members access to tenant screening service SafeRent, and mobile application GoMLS, which allows real estate agents and their clients to work together and remotely share information throughout the home search process. A real estate industry professional since 1979, Cowen was the first CEO of the Northern Nevada Regional MLS in 2003.
